From a suntan and a dream to building affordable homes across the country — my path here was anything but straight, and I wouldn't change a single detour.

The nagging feeling had been in my heart for a while: I wanted to invest in real estate. It was persistent and simply wouldn't go away. One day, I came across an online ad from a couple who flipped homes and offered to teach you how to do it. It was one of those business models where you purchase something simple, and then there's another class, and then a workshop. Next thing I knew, I'd spent thousands of dollars and learned barely anything. Why don't I just get licensed, I thought, instead of no return on my investment – I'd invest in me?

As soon as I got my license in 2015, my business took off. I'd originally gotten it to help myself, but I quickly began helping others and ended up earning Rookie of the Year. I owe that early success to 17 years of owning a tanning salon, where I pretty much knew everyone — and everyone knew me. But that salon didn't just build my network. It shaped my entire life.
It started in high school. I was a pale kid who wanted some color, so I started going to a local tanning salon. I became friends with the manager, got offered a job, and took it. Simple as that. What I didn't expect was that the salon would also be where my relationship with Leika — my then girlfriend became my wife. We'd actually met in high school, working at the same restaurant.
Her version of the story is that she came in with her family one day, spotted me, thought I was cute, and decided to get a job there. We were just friends for years — until we weren't. I had always wanted to be a father and own my own business. Leika was the girl of my dreams and we’re now living our dreams together.

Then the owner pulled me aside with an unexpected offer. His buyer had fallen through. "Do you want to buy this business?" I wanted to — badly — but I didn't have the money. So, I did what felt natural: I told my regulars. These were the customers I'd talked to for years. Their response stopped me in my tracks. "Are you kidding?" they said. "You should own this place. You can do it, and we'll help you." They meant it.

In 2003, I became the owner of Hot Spot Tanning Salon. It was one of the best educations I've ever received — over a hundred conversations a day with locals who became friends, neighbors, and eventually clients. The year after, Leika and I got married, and I accomplished my next dream: becoming a father to Mia, Ella and Tripp. Life was full.
I owned that salon for 12 years before real estate took over completely. I fell in love with the work almost immediately. I realized the job came down to a few things: be Truthful, pay close Attention to the fine details, Listen carefully, and be genuinely Kind. That approach, combined with my network, grew my business year after year.
But I made a costly mistake. Wanting to grow in a different direction, I decided to train agents instead of selling homes. I made too many changes to my business model all at once. That was the dagger. I was naive, didn't ask enough questions, and my business dropped sharply. I felt the weight of having let my family down. We couldn't afford the life we had built, and that stung in ways I still think about.
But we figured it out together. Leika became a substitute teacher, which reignited something wonderful in her. I came out the other side with hard-earned clarity: my calling isn't mentoring agents. It's helping people find and afford a home.

I'm back to doing exactly that — and I'm just getting started. My next project is developing single-family homes that are dignified, beautiful, and affordable, with plans to build them across the country. Because everyone deserves to buy a home. That belief is what drives me today.
I bring over 11 years of experience as a third-generation REALTOR®. What truly sets me apart is how deeply I care about my clients—not just the outcome, but their overall well-being throughout the process. For me, it’s never about the commission; it’s about creating a positive, seamless experience from beginning to end. I take pride in guiding my clients with empathy and without judgment, meeting them where they are and supporting them every step of the way.
I believe that education is key. I take the time to walk my clients through each stage of the transaction, setting clear expectations, encouraging questions, and ensuring they fully understand what’s happening. There are many moving parts in any real estate deal, and too often those details are overlooked. My role is to make sure nothing is missed.
I’ve seen too many people lose time and money by working with the wrong agent. With the right guidance, this process can be exceptional. My goal is to protect, inform, and empower my clients so they can move forward with confidence.
Sincerely,

Bobby Paolini
